We cultivate a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Beyond the tangible outcomes of our projects, Hibco Construction cultivates a vibrant and inclusive culture. Rooted in family values, our team forms a close-knit community that goes beyond the workplace. This sense of community extends to our relationships with clients, partners, and the communities we engage with.

Our commitment to community engagement is not merely a buzzword; it’s our ethos. It’s about building connections, fostering relationships, and leaving a positive, lasting impact on the communities we touch. Our vibrant and inclusive culture is a testament to our belief that the success of each project is deeply intertwined with the well-being of the individuals and communities involved.

Where We Come From

There are things that stay with you.

The weight of not knowing if there is enough food in the house. The quiet embarrassment of sitting out because you do not have the right gear. For some of our leaders, those are not distant memories or borrowed stories. They are lived ones. The Food Bank kept their families fed. Sport Central made sure that what was happening at home did not have to follow them onto the ice or into the gym.

What those organizations gave was more than food or equipment. They gave dignity. They gave kids the space to just be kids, to compete, to belong, to imagine a future bigger than their circumstances. They invested in people before those people had any way to prove they were worth investing in.

Those kids grew up. They built careers, teams, and companies. They became the leaders behind Hibco Construction and First General Services, organizations that today employ hundreds of people, deliver some of the most complex construction projects in the country, and give back to the very communities that once gave to them. That is not a coincidence. That is the compounding return on someone’s decision to show up for a family in need.

You do not forget that kind of generosity. It settles into you. It becomes the standard you hold yourself to when the tables turn.

That is where Hibco’s commitment to community comes from. Not a policy. Not a strategy. A debt we carry proudly and work to repay every single year.

We have been recognized by Business in Edmonton Magazine, honoured on National Philanthropy Day for our work alongside Edmonton’s Food Bank, and awarded the Star Metro Community Choice Award. We are grateful for every one of those honours. But recognition was never the point.

We support Alberta’s Food Banks, Sport Central, Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta, the African Canadian Civic Engagement Council, Arts on the Avenue, and more because we know what these organizations mean when life gets hard. We have seen it. We have felt it.

We build for a living. But this is what we live for.
